Not doing too much as I'm extraordinarily busy at work by dint of being the Last Man Standing more or less....

But am experimenting with white undercoats and Citadel contrast paints...

I have used black undercoats for decades but as my eyesight fades I'm thinking perhaps a white one might be easier... which will need some adjustment to my technique I think.

In a smuch as I should have to develop one.

I look at some folks work, that is obviously done on a white or lighter coloured undercoat, and consider it. It always looks much brighter than my results. Maybe white with a black wash.

the ivory, almost beige GW undercoat helps with that, just softening the edges a bit.

The contrast trick is light to dark, rather than the other way around. I like them.

Had to sit through some training videos this afternoon at my "home office" so made use of the time.

Scots Lancers for my DbR project. Really just chucking paint on as I cant really see these that well. Really like Museum Miniatures ECW range, seem to be a nice 15mm size rather than the bigger almost 18mm stuff from some manufacturers.

Many do... For many reasons...

As it happens, I've just put aside my ongoing SYW project for the time being and am slogging my way through thousands more 10mm ACW in preparation for my Stones River/Murfreesboro demo game at Warfare in November. I've painted around 100 Union infantry this week, but still need to paint another 200, plus 100 Reb infantry, a load of army, corps and divisional commanders for both sides, Confederate infantry command bases with suitable 'western' flags and a load of other bits and pieces. I've also just made a start on the twelve 2'x2' terrain boards - the rivers are all now sunk into the boards and I'm now adding the roads, railway and hills: http://www.jemimafawr.co.uk/2021/08/19/ ... fare-2021/

I don't know that one, sorry. It's based on Rich Hassenauer's two Fire & Fury scenarios, but as I'm using 10mm figures I've re-drawn the map to expand the on-table area and include the flanking cavalry action and some of the off-table troops:

Very old book, late 70s I think and he had the battle with airfix figures and hornby railway track.
