Because Ayton 1 is looming large I'm obviously working on stuff for Ayton 2. I've been repurposing some 28mm C19th figures by gloss varnishing them etc...
However I've hit a problem in that getting them off of the base is akin to trying to take a pie out of Peelers grasp.
I can't think of any real issues with using multibased troops for 'Gentlemans War' but can anyone else?
Nah that should be fine. I think Howard mentions it in the rules? He certainly has on facebook. Quite a few games Ive seen have used movement trays anyway. You may be limited in an effective attack formation though if they're x3 men to a base.

I suspect I might have used epoxy and I don't think the freezer works for that? Plus i'd have to explain to the wife that I was eating twenty four sausages to make room for four dozen askaris that needed debasing
Best not mention debasing askaris in front of any Guardian readers either!

Everyone has to have a hobby!
At least he's not flogging redcoats.

I couldn't find it mentioned in he rules, I must try harder
I do remember Howard saying that the standard line formation should be two ranks deep so that would be fine.
I'd rather have them based individually but not at the cost of breaking ankles!

So just before I order anything and I'm not saying I will. The 30mm game will be A Gentlemans War sized units will it?

You'd better confirm the period too. I'll be up for 42mm on both days.

I think the suggestion (Tim H will verify) is for one day of shiny 42mm and one day of shiny 28/30
Both using Gentleman’s War
The 30mm I think was agreed as later 19thC. I’m shinyfying my 1866 Austrians. Andy has FPW Prussians. Not sure what other people have

I think there are possibly two 30mm games planned for the Saturday.... at least.
Hotel and I are planning a 30mm ACW shiny game using fast and bloody rules of some description. There may be others who are able to join us in this endeavour.
Parallel to that, the suggestion was for others to use their shiny 19thC 30mm toys in another game.
Sunday would be a big 42mm game.
I stand to be corrected on that - it's just my understanding.
