It’s very much play with what you have. If you play non campaign games you can do whatever you like! Obviously the more tanks in the pool, the longer and more fun the campaign

Given that the basic game is just 1(tank)-on-1, it sounds like a great opportunity to just buy a single kit and have a go with the (supposed) dross, that probably was nothing of the sort when it first appeared. Provided you keep an appropriate eye on chronology and keep the opponents historical, you could have a great time. As someone who has never really been "into" WW2 (or indeed, any "tankie" type wargaming) I quite like the look of this, and the "Heath Robinson" nature of early war tanks and other vehicles very much floats my vessel.

You can command more than one tank if you so wish apparently

Yes, once you've mastered the mechanics of the game, you could be a platoon commander and have 2, 3, or 4 tanks. One of the "Meeples" hosts made a slip of the tongue and said "squadron" which had Rich Clarke spluttering a bit, but it was later ascertained that he meant "platoon".

I prefer the term "troop", much more appropriate for motorised "donkey wallopers".

Either platoon/company/battalion or troop/squadron/regiment is appropriate for the RTR, the cavalry guys exclusively used cavalry terms. There was a discussion on this regarding another TFL release on LAF.

That’s Mr Troop if you don’t mind.
Ordering my copy of the game today, always thought this might make a good Lardies idea and yes, 1940/41 tanks will be the most fun. How about a T35?
And, cress points for doing it in 1/35th?

Aha, I do have a T35 in 1/72
Might have to get these rules if all the cool kids have them. Got piles of tanks sat about, whole Rapid Fire battalions in some cases.
My Footsore Angular-Saxons turned up today and ohhh how lovely they are, way ahead of the Gripping Beast warbands and cheaper too. Just need the sheild transfers to turn up before the bank holidays and I can crack on. Might get some Scots or Irish too. Only gripe is no spears included but I have enough left from my arabs I think.

Now that the shed is officially up and running as a wargame venue, at Salute this year I shall be in the market for terrain knick knacks. I've never bought any type of terrain, so I'm rather looking forward to it. I shall be taking a very large ruck sack......can't imagine that will cause any problems.

Just ordered some 30 cal Brownings from TAG for the Saladins & Ferrets. Got a few Vietnam era Aussies to provide a future OpFor or the beginnings of B (Spec Ops) Company.
