A magnificent phalanx object, still growing larger and larger till it meets its final dimensions.

the phalanx looks great with no hint of Priapism - does that mean that you replaced the pikes with wire?

What are the dimensions of the MDF bases for the 6mm legions?

Thanks, EB. I'm using brass wire. I find the cast ones unsightly at that scale. And I guess I could do the different lengths pretty precisely of different nationalities pikes. Some were noticeably longer than others...

And what's the story with the pikes? Those things aren't moulded on the figure are they?

Those are 60x30mm for the Roman line troops.

Many thanks to all for the kind comments. Started getting some more basing done. This is the general vibe I think I'm going for:

Those are just great. I looked at purchasing that set, but my half-arsed efforts would have looked like a 5 year old with a housebrush next to those. I will be interested to see how you manage with the lady on a couch :)

You and me both. I can't stand spaghetti pikes, spears or flag poles. I wish all such figures were cast open handed.....it would save me a huge amount of time. You've done a splendid job.
