So as mentioned above, breaking into a warehouse is easy-peasy.
Karina and Hilaire using false passes managed to blag their way into the depot through a combination of forged documents, Hilaire’s clever talking and Karina’s ample chest. Old Sam took Karina around the warehouse where she saw crates containing construction suppliers, vast amounts of dynamite and some very advanced power generating equipment. There was a basement where access was forbidden. Hilaire noted that there was no documentation of any kind in the offices - like they hadn’t been used for years. Having tried to push their luck too far they were asked to leave.
Back at the cafe the heroes discussed their plan. Casale from the Mob arrived and became convinced the basement was the storage area for Caduceus drugs. He said the mafia would hit the warehouse tonight and asked the heroes to assist as a favour. The party decided to split into 2 - one team looking for a water level entrance, the others joining the Mob as they stormed the upper floors.
The waterside team prepared with great professionalism, using their Mafia contacts they gained access to an ice cream boat, complete with large resin Mr Whippy model. Silencers were provided hidden in the flake boxes. Randall donned his finest SAS black woolly hat and jumper. Christina stroked her long pickaxe. Silently they made their way to an overflow outlet pipe at the base of the warehouse.
Upstairs Karina and Hilaire joined the mob as they stormed the building which soon degenerated into a blazing gunfight with the security teams. After a few minutes most of the guards were silenced but a klaxon started to sound throughout the warehouse.
Downstairs, the ice cream commandoes managed to open the outlet hatch and break in - finding a security guard desperately trying to close a jammed steel door. Randall coolly blasted the back of his head , just as Karina and Hilaire came down the stairs and the team entered the basement room.
The basement was a huge room filled with glass tubes containing swirling green gas and thousands of fist-sized mosquito-like insects. Christina went to investigate and pressed her nose against the nearest glass cylinder.
Also in the basement was a glass walled control room , in it a guard was on the phone and looking panicked. A large clock was counting down - 10 seconds to something happening…. Derrick threatened him and he revealed that the release mechanism was automatic - the insects would be free and it couldn’t be stopped. Everyone panicked, running out of the room then back into the glass room and shutting the doors. A perfect safe room. Well ….glass walled, in a basement that’s full of deadly insects, and no exit, but otherwise perfect. The insects surged out, sucking the blood out of the mafia men and the unfortunate final security guard, then swarming towards the hatch in the ceiling.
A voice on the control room phone asked if the automated emergency release had concluded. Derek realised this was De Luca - the head of security for Caduceus.
Meanwhile, upstairs, Dr SIngh discovered the generator equipment was material to build a nuclear power plant. In 1933. Destined to be onshipped to the Belgian Congo. As he pondered this he saw the insects swarming into the upper area. Leaping to the - somewhat hasty - judgement that all his friends must be dead he fired his flare gun into the ceiling high stack of dynamite crates and ran for the door.
A vast explosion erupted. Singh was sprinting for the door. Downstairs a huge pressure wave smashed into the glass wall of the office.
Will our heroes survive ? Tune in on 2 January to find out how this text book heist concludes….

I think that so far everything is bang on schedule and going to plan.
Based on previous experience anyway.

By coincidence this whole episode is discussed in the latest edition of Amazing Stories, with interesting reports that the navy are developing a 99 Calibre Flak(e) gun

The blast ripped through the basement and shattered the glass walled office. Randall bravely took the full force of the glass in his face while sheltering the enemy security guard from suffering anything more than a scratch. The guard then went to grab a pistol but Hilaire chose to plant a bullet in his forehead and the threat was eliminated. Everyone then ran for the ice cream boat and nobody wondered what had happened to Dr Singh.
Upstairs Singh was thrown to the floor by the blast and then felt an intense pain in his neck as a mosquito started to drain his blood….. And his intelligience. He managed to pull it off in his befuddled state but was then capture by his erstwhile lover Alice-with-the-carving-knife and was driven off into the darkness. Somehow he managed to persuade her that he wasn't responsible for her mother being rounded up with the residents of Bingham and taken away to somewhere horrible. So now she loves him again. But is bonkers. And carries a carving knife in her handbag.
Re-united , everyone decide to call into the office. De Luca met them and said he was worried about the mob's involvement in destroying the warehouse and where was Karina ? - no one knew. She hadn't been with them on the boat when they escaped.
Looking for Karina they discovered a worried looking Casale who asked the heroes to join his boss for dinner. They arrived at the Green Garden Café to discover Casale and his boss Bonaventre and another Capo - Bresciali. The Mafia didn't understand what had happened but were furious with Bresciali with apparently fooling them into raiding the warehouse. One of them punched Bresciali , which caused his skin to melt away revealing him to be a serpent person.
He revealed himself to be an agent of the Inner Night and bragged about how he had fooled more Mafia associates into planting bombs in the Caduceus HQ during a charity fund raiser event this very evening ! Everyone started to get quite pissed off with him, especially when he started chanting the spell to turn into a Formless Spawn. There followed a highly professional fight where Randall accidentally shot Casale and set fire to the restaurant, Dr Singh fired his flame pistol wildly around the room and Christina flailed a champagne stand around like a pickaxe. The serpent man was finally downed and just managed to warn the heroes about the long brightly lit corridor in the Caduceus basement before Christina pummelled his face in.
They joined the mafia bosses in a race across the city to Caduceus HQ to discover that 10 bombers were planting bombs on various floors. Singh telephoned De Luca and told him to evacuate the building . Amazingly this worked and fire alarms started going off all around. The mafia bombers were discovered and persuaded that the mission was off.
Now - apparently alone in the building - the heroes decided to investigate the basement and the mysterious "long corridor". The lower basements seemed to be a chamber of horrors - a strange throne room, a hospital ward with logbook (they stole it), labs with human and animal experiments, a capybara the size of a dog(they stole it), a safe full of documents (they stole them), a prison block full of deformed Rose Meadhams (they didn't steal them though Singh was tempted). In one room was the pilot who had rescued Hilaire, his skull removed and his brain pulsing. Hilaire recognised his good friend, lit a Gauloise, shrugged and left.
Then they came across the a long corridor that led well outside the footprint of the Meadham building. Moving along it some of the party noticed small holes in the walls, then the exit tunnel was suddenly sealed off by a dropping steel door, the lights went out and all went black.
Until next time…..

Only way to get that skill up is to get it used.
Derrick was squeamish about spraying lead indiscriminately but I reckon, omelettes, eggs, all that good stuff.
