What are people buying?
Re: What are people buying?
Oo! I've just discovered that the old 'Drum' range of buildings is available from SHQ! I had previously been told that the moulds had long-since died and that SHQ were unable to bring them back into production, so this is fantastic!

Nothing on their website - are you sure?

Yes, they're hidden away. Look for 'Buildings & Scenery' and then Mediterranean Buildings. There are no pics, but the list matches exactly. I've googled and there are photos on other people's blogs and the Peter Pig website - definitely the old Drum/Mayhem range. The European/German building ranges also conform, but are lacking the two lovely small arched bridges (one had an ornamental arch at one end, while the other one didn't), which is a same, as I'd like another one of those.

Ah, thanks. Given the PP involvement, I'm guessing that they're only 15/18mm aren't they? Shame.....

Re: What are people buying?
Indeed they are. My primary interest is their exquisite 15mm 'Mediterranean' buildings, of which I have only six. Mike H used them en masse for our AB Figures Fuentes de Onoro game and they looked stunning, so I've always wanted more. The Northern European buildings are also excellent, especially their bridges and town-houses.
Did The Drum/Mayhem do larger building models? I don't know, because I was only interested in the 15mm ones at the time. SHQ do other scales:

According to their website, only a power station and a research lab. Not a lot of use for Sharp Practice, unfortunately.

Re: What are people buying?
True to my word, I've just put the Battlefront Lee/Grant kit together. Different make, different issues.
First of all, the kit can make a Lee or a Grant, the instructions supplied don't really show which bits to use but the guide on the FoW site is very good. Battlefront got round the upper hull issue by having most of it in one piece. Sadly, they opted to have a separate piece to cover the sponson for the 75mm, that was a real ball ache, particularly because they gave no real clue which way up to insert the gun. One oddity is that the FoW version will only traverse in azimuth while the Zvezda one will only elevate. The sand skirts were a bit of a faff to get on. No problem with that on the Zvezda as it didn't have them. I don't think it bothered the Russians too much. The FoW kit has two sets of stowage bins but doesn't say which to use. I don't think it matters much and the other set are going onto the Zvezda kit.

I'd love to get more of these
what I need to do is see pictures of them so I don't buy what I already have
Re: What are people buying?
Yeah, I was trying to work out what was what, by comparing the descriptions to what I already have... Not easy.
I've ordered one each of the Mediterranean buildings - I already have one of each, except for the church. With luck they'll be marked or labelled with the code-numbers and I'll then take a photo of each one for you, with the code number.
