When I broke my arm in a bush camp I drank rum, 8 bottles in three days, until the weather cleared for the chopper.
The doc was pretty impressed with my splinting.
I think its not unreasonable to expect yourself to fall over and brake an arm after drinking 8 bottles of rum.
I think I'd count yourself lucky that it was only an arm you broke :o

When I first started wargaming, one of the guys in the club was a medical technician so had access to all this kit. I never forget him replacing all the lances on his 15mm Parthian Catafracts with syringe needles. And every time he picked up a base, he had 4 super heavy cavalry pinned to his hand

If I did pointy sticks, I'd make all my spears out of brass rod, sharpened and hammered flat. Watching idiot picking stands up by their spears makes me want to grind testicles in a portar and mestle.

The Hepatitis Sea sounds like a perfect fantasy setting.

I use 'soft' iron wire, cut to a point for pikes. They're not 'that' soft, & they are that sharp. Keeps the cat off the table too.

The spears/pikes that Northstar sell are seriously thick and seriously sharp.

This and Grizz's 8 bottles of rum reminded me that David Niven and Errol Flynn once shared a bungalow in Malibu (along with the various women who inhabited it from time to time) named "Cirrhosis by the sea".

Gaming this would probably be the most surreal Skirmish game you could run around a historical event

A circus would fit in well with Ayton's ABCW game...
