Its just the right hand side of the battle - from La Haye Sainte over, didn't quite have enough French line battalions so had to substitute Young Guard instead. Played another turn tonight

Nice one. Easy scenario for the Austrians though. Each unit pins a French opposing number then the spare Austrian unit, O'Reillys for preference, smacks them in turn..
Tabletop Teasers, dead easy.

Cheers! Yes, it does seem like a tough nut for the French, but then it'll be just desserts for the Raab scenario we played a couple of years ago, which was utterly impossible for the Austrians.
Something that's occurred to me is that the Austrian Grenadiers at this time had been completely watered down, so might be better classed as 'Line'. The Mack Reforms had doubled the number of Grenadiers in each regiment to a full battalion of four companies instead of a part-battalion of two companies. That might be a suitable balancing factor.

That could be an option, though I suspect superior French command and control would be able to compensate without hampering the Austrian grenadiers.

Get thee behind me Satan!
I have always wanted to do XIV army. The first old soldier I ever knew was T'nong, our driver in Rangoon. He had been a Chindit and the army kept hassling him to join up. His standard response "I'm not Burmese, I'm Karen, and I don't need your army. I was in the real army, GeneralBillSlim's army".

Hey, if he wants to identify as a privileged, middle-aged white woman, who are we to judge?

I have the swords he gave me when I was born. His traditional enemies were the Burmese and he used to kill them when he went on leave. Nothing personal, but he intended to keep doing it till they got out of his country.
