You're making Essex sound like something from a Stephen King novel, no roads out, flexible geography and a cast of strange, idiosyncratic characters and delusional locals.
TBH I recognise that description - especially the bit between Chelmsford and Maldon.

Just bought the latest edition of General de Brigade and Talon & Claw (the GNW supplement for Beneath the Lily Banners) from Caliver.

Interestingly T&C is being sold by Caliver for £25 on their website and £35 via their eBay shop.....
Everything in their ebay shop is more.

Added a bit of dowel I had kicking about to the base to add as a lip to stop things falling off when moving about or wrestling off a toddler.

I'm not too sure what the little box is for?

Some lovely Comanded Shot from Warlord in the pic ready for some paint.

I think that the bigger holes on the left, presumably for brushes, would have been better with bigger brush at the back... I don't often reach for a 2 inch house brush when I'm painting miniatures.

Used my new gorila wood glue, which I think seems a lot more sturdy and less watery than ordinary PVA. Also my army painter sprue cutters turned up too. Happy with these very decent quality.
Moved to Gorilla wood glue years ago. It’s ace and I can’t see me switching to another brand
Yup, best thing I've descovered this year! I've just today mended a drawer unit I thought was as good as firewood. Repaired it all stronger than before. An old carpentry teacher told me all woodglue was basically just pva, disagree now.

I had some old terrain tiles that were the crap old polystyrene. I coated the edges with the wood glue. Good and solid now.

Given that most people are right-handed, and so would want the brush holder part on that side, I wonder if our Tim has fitted the shelves the wrong way round?

No, no, no, no, it's the sides, back and base that are the wrong way round. The shelves are fine.

It did occur to me but I was much too polite to say so.

I think he's fitted the holes upside down.

Built as pictured p.724 and very happy with it too. My brushes are thick grip even on the super fine so the brush holes are ideal the way they are and to be honest I probably wont even use them. Prefer to keep my brushes safe in their case.
