Pulp Cthulhu
Re: Pulp Cthulhu
We were amazing. Except for the times we were not. Which just happened to be most of the time.

If fire isn’t working, you’re not using enough.

Re: Pulp Cthulhu
No pressure then, just the future of mankind and the planet.
I therefore vote for Peanut to take charge.

Re: Pulp Cthulhu
As an outsider with an interest in the future of the planet, I'm backing Peanut over any of this lot...

Re: Pulp Cthulhu
The journey through the portal was bizarre and mind bending. Dr Singh had visions of glyphs and images that merged together to tell a story - like a jerky cartoon. He saw the Serpent People building a citadel and a doomsday volcano machine. Then they seemed to be attacked by alien creatures (Elder Things) and their servants (Lloigor & Shoggoths). The Serpent People made their citadel phase out of reality to protect it, so as punishment the Elder Things used their alien science to rip Mu into another dimension where the war continued.
The portal spat the heroes out onto a bloodied plateau overlooking an alien swamp and in the distance a shining citadel atop a huge volcano, around it flashes and explosions as a battle raged.
The intrepid heroes set off through the bizarre swamp. In the mud a vast eyeball surfaced, sucking in the surrounding water and then exploding mud, bile and vomit across the area. Everyone ran except Hilaire who disappeared into the viscous mud pool. Dr Singh was close by and decided the best thing to do was to faff with his notebook. Thankfully for our French hero , the worlds second best hunter dived into the slime and deftly pulled him out. What a guy (hang on, wrong hunter)
A flock of stingray-like flying creatures adopted Derrick and loudly repeated everything they heard. Somewhat limiting the ability to act stealthily. Not that anyone makes the roll anyway.
Then, ahead the party heard the sound of animalistic combat. Derrick was left behind with his chattering friends while Hilaire, Randall and Singh investigated. In a clearing was Rose Meadham and a Formless Spawn fighting some of the alien Elder Things. Rose was ripping the throat out of one with her teeth. Nice girl - perhaps she's a baddie.
Randall retired to stay safe with Derrick while Singh and Hilaire continued to watch. Rose picked up a strange flashing device and looked concerned. She was right to be - because crashing through the trees like a freight train came a vast, ectoplasmic behemoth…. A Shoggoth
Hilaire wasn't worried. He'd seen worse. He lit a Gaulouse and stood in front of it. Rose sent her formless spawn to fight the shoggoth. It's 15 mouths were seen simultaneously to mouth - "oh for fucks sake" as it slid…with trepidation….towards the beast. At this point Christina bravely came to the rescue - and promptly lost 19 points of Sanity.
While everyone was in dire peril Randall made a cup of tea assuming the Shoggoth wasn't after them. Derrick noticed an alien communications device and tried to contact the Shoggoth but wasn't able to appeal to its better nature.
The Shoggoth made short work of the Spawn and slithered after Rose - ignoring Hilaire as he tried to casually flame lance it. Dr Singh discovered a gravity manipulator and squashed Rose into the ground, stopping her from escaping as the beast rolled over her. Her screams echoed round the swamp as she was sucked in and ripped apart. It then ejected small parts of her behind it as it then slithered off and left them.
Maybe Randall was right. Surely not.
Continuing to the Citadel the heroes could see an entranceway that kept phasing in and out of existence but around them a battle was raging. How will they manage to gain entry ? Find out next time……
[a few chance of death this time. Derricks attempt to contact the beast managed at least to make it neutral and just eliminate everything around. That would have been sticky]
