Vaguely hobby related, I've just bought tickets up to Cairns to spend a few days at the Armour and Artillery Museum there (https://www.ausarmour.com/). Mike Broadbent will be going with me, but Herself is not interested, for some strange reason.

She loves Cairns, mate- as long as Kuranda (Mike's never been on the sky rail, so we will go up for one day), shopping, the reef, Mareeba, etc, feature in the plans. Not three days of looking at "army things".

What she overlooked was that she could have spent three days shopping, lunching and whatever else she wanted while Mike and I drooled on the exhibits in the museum. But I neglected to mention that.

I'm sure she is much happier at home.

Nice place, Cairns. But Mareeba? I'm not sure about the attraction of that particular town. Now Atherton, Tolga, Milla Milla or Yungaburra are very pleasant.

I've been watching the Cairns tank museum's Youtube series on their restoration of a Grant. I can't wait to see the beast up close.
We'll be up that way at Xmas.

If we'd had to blitz the Japs in 42, a division of grants would have been our secret sauce.

They never coped with Lees or Grants in Burma.
