This may be a peculiarly sci-fi thing, in which case it will be beyond me, but if it's all covered, why does it matter what colour the bases are? Especially as you'll be re-basing them before each game anyway.

As you were, young master Wreckedoften. It's harder to get a 'git' award these days - reflecting the greater frequency and generally higher quality of insult.

It’s true, but EB doesn’t know the half of it. His many and varied eccentricities have influenced a whole generation of wargamers. Not necessarily in a good way, but influenced them none the less! More like how Mother’s terrify their children with stories of the boogie man if they won’t go to sleep....

If you say his name three times does he appear? Heralded by the whirring of a dremel and the smell of fresh MDF.

Yes, but only if you spin on the spot and say his name three times whilst your whole cavalry wing is in rout. It doesn’t work any other time.

He’s the wargaming version of Terry Pratchetts God of Hangovers

If you say his name 3 times then he sets off to visit you. So no worries about him turning up.

So he's more the god of misdirected routs?

or bad Mappage.

If you say his name three times he suddenly appears, at someone elses house, two hours late.
