I remain unconvinced as to their relative miracle value. I’d have a green and a brown arriving soon and will give them a go

The black seems to work well, always a hard colour to highlight etc.

Obviously I have difficulties with colour but alot of the examples I’ve seen rocking up on twitter just look like a base coat and a thick Vallejo wash to me lol 🤔

Okay, verdict:

Caveat - let it dry before you evaluate. You don’t see the effect at all when it’s still wet.

As a ‘paint’: Only so-so. Provides a weak base colour over the raised areas.

As a ‘wash’: very, very good. Strong, non-patchy uniform tone and really gets into the recesses well.

I’ll be looking at spray primers to find a pale version of the colour I’m aiming for, then using the Contrast as a shading wash.
I don't think the Contrast on its own, on top of citadel’s off-white primers, gives a strong enough tone.

My tuppence-worth there.

They seem to work better over Halfords white primer than they do over GWs own sprays.

They work over the brush on cream primer pretty well, and over ordinary acrylics as well.

These are from a FB Naps group -- Author of the post said these took him about 30 min per figure -- 20mm Newline. I think they're nicely done given the medium, but I'm yet to be convinced that the coverage of the contrast paints achieves the kind of finish I prefer for my own work. Still figuring out how to apply the stuff myself, so test painting will continue.

I hate painting white and have a project where i'll need to paint a lot of it, so i'm hoping that contrast will help me with that!

Interestingly, Plaguebearer Flesh is a pallid green over white undercoat but turns brown over a pale flesh undercoat. I was hoping to use pale base coats for the contrast but it looks like this might need a caution, the Blood Angel Red didn’t do so well over Orange either.
I get lockdown, but I get up again.
