Thanks gentlemen. Shabba - I've used some Scale 75 fantasy paints, which are pretty new to my arsenal. They make the blending pretty easy, as they're "gel-based" and you can effectively so some wet blending with no special effort; so you can get a lot of contrast in a small space rather quickly. Worth a look if you're into that sort of thing.
Have basically wrapped up the peasant levy. Now back to some more engaging troops.

I notice the spears that came with the spearmen are a bit bendy
I assume you've replaced the original spears with ? North star ones?

Thanks kindly, all. VB - my spearmen that came with the KS all had wire spears. Basically the Northstr 60mm length IIRC. I didn't like the lead bendy ones either.
Next up, foot sergeants. Organized this time by Rebels and Royalists.
Time for some retinue leadership and mounted knights...
