So, what did the friend do in the end (see original post)?

Funnily enough, I have a friend who has abandoned any notion of doing ECW in 20mm. He's wondering if ECW in 28mm or 15/18mm might ever be a game at Ayton.

not a project i'd do for my own reasons any time soon but if it was an Ayton game and it was imagi-Pike&Shot then i'd give it a go. Sensible scales only though

Similarly not something i'm looking at doing, I've got too much Ayton stuff that i'm not likely to use again (VBCW as an example :( ). So even if it was an Ayton game i'd think very carefully about what other games were going on first.

I like to think a lot about re-use potential these days but i could see a way to use an imaginations Pike & Shot army with some of my ancients and fantasy - so its all possibl;e

I have never had an interest in ECW. Need to focus on existing projects and need to avoid another Ayton period at all costs.

So I'll probably be up for it too..

Ohh, I think my friend went ahead and bought a brigade deal - 3 infantry regiments and an additional cavalry regiment and I think he got an email this week saying they are in the post so he's very excited. I also think he suggested to his wife that family could buy him an occasional unit and have his sister bring them out when she comes out for his birthday soon

Hmmm Imagination P&S sounds good, especially if the top end wash flexible, I have a few 1672 units painted and ready. Nobody expects the Swiss Papal Guard, with inquisition support!

I would certainly hope it’s going to be a game at Ayton. 2021 sounds great

I hope you can persuade your friend to post piccies as and when?

It could be a generic pike & shotte game, not restricted to ECW, if that helps picque anyone's interest. Am I right in thinking that MiniFigs do a 12mm scale in this period?
