Anyone played En Garde?

Paul sent me some nice Reiver figures that I'm itching to paint someday and thought this set looked ideal. I have been kicking the tyres on Pikemans Lament for Reivering which might work well. I know there's a big difference in numbers of figures needed, En Garde would suit the available figs I have without needing to add too many more.

Got it but never played it - that copy might be going spare

I have, assuming itβs the Osprey blue book version (and not the 1980βs RPG version)
I really like it. Uses the same engine as Ronin I believe

Ah yes I remember now. I tend to ignore Samurai stuff. Too much like day to day life having run kendo dojos for years
I keep meaning to paint some Perry figures as a gift for my teacher when he's next over from Japan.

It does...and the only thing i've used it for is Border Reivers along time ago
I think EB recommended it.

Like every set of wargames rules ever published, I have a copy. But I've never played the Osprey En Garde.

I think you were talking using it for Three Musketeers?
I too am afflicted by RAC (Rules Acquisition Compulsion).

Are they different? I got the impression (having never owned either, and only played the 80s version once) that one was a development of the other.

Nope. Completely different
