Received this today after several days and three e-mails from me, still I got an answer. Well done Wofun at least you are delivering to the UK.
Good afternoon Will,
It is our pleasure to enjoy you with our WSS miniatures.
Thank you for supporting our products.
We maintain the same shipping rates.
Starting the 1st of January, we make the invoices for the UK customers without VAT. We were obliged by the UE regulations to add on invoices 19% VAT for all UE customers. The US, Canada, Australia, and UK customers pay the VAT when the currier brings the packages, according to the VAT level from each country (the UK has 20%)
If we can support you with other information, we are happy to help.
Kindest Regards,
Cosi,
Cosmin Gligor
Community Management.
So orders from this particular firm will be 20% more expensive and I have a feeling that the Post Office or currier will add a fee probably at least £8.
Not a bad deal for the British government 20% extra on all imported goods and not a jot of extra work for them.
Willz.

I read that as being 1% more expensive (20% VAT instead of 19% VAT).

I thought I read it that way but there prices are not 19% cheaper this month (and why would they be) so I don't understand were the VAT comes from, also duty and handing is mentioned on the HMRC website?????
So actually I am non the wiser
.
As it seems so difficult to buy items from aboard now we have move back to the 1950's I will just have to spend my wargaming monies on UK items, I have already stopped selling items outside the UK on my ebay sales as its to much hassle and would not be fair if an European buyer has to pay extra for an item he bought off me.
Onward and upward happy gaming,
Willz.

Willz, I was thinking that as we pay vat on British stuff, this is just giving a level field for imports? I'm assuming they don't have to pay vat in their own country too, and so should reduce the price? I don't actually know, I'm just yacking on.

The official UK guidance may be of some assistance, Willz. It's HMRC's understanding of the law and will be of much greater assistance than hearsay, gossip and what the bloke in the pub thinks. The above link is a good starting point.
But put the Chilean red down before starting.
Good luck
Iain

Yes. Previously Willz was enriching the people of Rumania (?), but now, at the cost to him of an extra 1p in the pound, he will be helping the Treasury pay our pensions. Hurrah!
Although, judging by Wofun's reply to Willz, it looks like we may have to send the SAS over there to collect our 20%. Grrrrr!

I read that as being 1% more expensive (20% VAT instead of 19% VAT).
That is how I read it too and is in line with this from the gov.uk website:
"The seller must work out the consignment value of the goods by deciding their ‘intrinsic value’, this is the price the goods were sold for, not including:
Any transport or insurance costs, unless they are included in the price and not separately shown on the invoice;
Any other identifiable taxes and charges"
So WoFun should be removing local taxes from goods sent to the UK (ie the 19% EU Tax) to reach it's "Intrinsic Value", just like UK firms are meant to remove VAT when sending to countries which don't charge it etc...

Willz.
It's only difficult for the consumer when companies in the EU make it so.
I've seen EU companies ignoring and/or complaining about the new regulations and there is clearly a lot of anti-UK feeling being whipped up.
Sick of this sort of thing being endlessly politicised by those not accepting that there is a collective responsibility across the whole of Europe for the current confusing issues.
