Just wonderd who was kicking he tires on this and what figures they were thinking of! I know Simon mentioned some Old School sci-fi. I'm very very tempted and to be fair, I havent bought a new book this year yet. From what I've seen the rules look brilliant.

Were those the figures posted here a few days ago? I can't find the thread now. They looked ace - reminded me of the massive heap of Copplestone/Grenadier sci-fi figures I have unpainted.

I'm guessing that Stargrave is related to Frostgrave? Not played it myself, but it seems to be what the kewl kidz are playing. I used to play a lot of Stargrunt II, which is a superb set of rules (the best platoon-level skirmish rules I've ever played, regardless of period), but it's solidly military and it would be fun to play something more character-based...

If I go for it I am spoilt for choice. 25mm GZG & Battletech, GW Valhallans, Grenadier/Copplestone and sundry heroic scale stuff. I might even do it in 15mm Traveller figures.
The only thing holding me back is not knowing if we will have viable premises for the club.

I’m intending to reuse my Sandy/jungly frostgrave scenery with added Sci fi scatter which I already have a fair bit of from my 40k stuff

Figures I’ll use it to give a reason to paint my old Citadel Spacefarers - true 25mm. I should have enough to be able to put together crews of imperial marines, dark disciples , pirates and mercenaries without needed to buy too much more....

Same author & presumably somewhat similar mechanisms, given the choice of name. It may well tick those boxes....

I am tempted to do it with UNIT vs cybermen, daleks, sontarans, treen et al.

That sounds perfect, I'd love to see those glorious Spacefarers (my first Sci-Fi figures) given the Goat treatment.

After receiving a number of Imperial Marines from our very generous Gary I painted them in Space 1999 style last year. All the rest are in the painting queue
