I like to do a 'test' figure when embarking on something new.

The first of many Tumbling Dice Late Romans:

Very nice. May I ask about the basing? Single figure basing for ancients?

This began with SAGA. Being contrary, I choose a Late Roman force. I liked it. It grew & grew (& is now on steroids-growth).

I wrote my own rules called, imaginatively, "Early Dark Ages Rules.
But it started from SAGA, so movement trays with single based figures.

My rules - surprise!- have casualty removal.

Would you like a copy? The price is commensurate with their true worth (ie 'free')?

Those look very good indeed! But, casualty removal, how quaint.😉

The original meaning of "quaint", as you know, was: ‘wise, clever’, also ‘ingenious, cunningly devised’.
This morphed into "out of the ordinary" & then on to "eccentric, odd & slightly bonkers".

I'm assuming the latter meaning was intended? You know me too well....

I hope I don't qualify for the word as used by the Elizabethan poet, Andrew Marvell? In "To His Coy Mistress" he uses it as a pun for a word you commonly read on Frothers but probably wouldn't use in front of Her Majesty. The ;) has me worried.

Thanks Donald, yes, I wouldn't mind having a look at a copy. I'm currently using Dux Brittaniarum, and DBMM with forays into Lion Rampant, but any ideas gratefully received.
