SYW action from GHQ

The Wild Geese face off against the British Foot Guards in today's action here in GHQ. The figures are from Wargames Foundry {I confess the style is a bit Marmite for some Wargamers} and the flags are from GMB.

Can't beat a bit of red on red action.

I think the figures look great. But how is "marmite" used in this sentence?
The only thing I think when I hear "marmite" is indigestible sludge. You don't suggest eating those great SYW figures, do you?

Marmite, folk either love or hate it, similarly with these Foundry figures I've noticed, the sculpting by Rob Baker is either liked or disliked strongly. But I'm sure you knew that really

All those redcoats look jolly splendid, I look forward to the battle report. I must say, reading through the blog, that I do agree with you vis a vis the Perry twins efforts. I confess to having been a fan of their work for years, but the figures they produced for Foundry are light years ahead of the Perry Miniatures brand. I found their ACW range extremely disappointing(although the later plastics are good), which considering I think the Foundry ACW range was some of their best work, was a shock. I miss the clarity and sharpness of their Foundry work.

No I didn't.
Remember I live in the Home of Vegemite where you either love the evil black concoction or you're forever more branded an un-Australian traitor & hanged in Effigy (a small town outside of Woolloomolloo).
Here; Marmite is only sold (in small amounts), wrapped in brown paper to, superannuated , pasty-faced anchorites who use it for some god-forsaken, secret religious ritual. Or perhaps they eat it on toast. Either way, I've only tasted it once & it was disgusting....unlike your SYW figures.

I love marmite. Spread it thick on toast with hated mature cheddar

+1. But then I also like that sort of cheddar in a sandwich with strawberry jam (the all bits left in sort).

I am less satisfied with Marmite.
I tried painting with it, but the coverage was uneven & it attracted vermin.
However, it made a durable compound to fill a pothole in the road outside the house (still attracting vermin, however).

At least in that form the vermin get run over on a regular basis.
