Can I game Field of Glory?

The obvious re-joinder is why would I want to but I'll ignore that.
I have been on a kick for the past 12 months on the Late Antiquity period. You noticed??
In that time, I've created Late Roman & Hun-Goth armies of approaching 30 units a side.
These figures have been individually mounted & placed in bespoke movement trays.
The infantry are mostly in 8-10 figure units, the mounted in 8-10 figure units.
To use them, I've developed my own rules.
However, my little group are long term FoG players (Bronze Age, Punic & ECW periods). One of my pals asked if we could use my Late Antiquity figures in an FoG game.....without re-basing or reorganisation.
I've got a copy of the FoG army book - Legions Triumphant. I can easily make up "legal" armies in the right proportions.
Instead of 4-6 base units for example, could I fudge a game with 2 figures representing a FoG base?
I've looked through the rules & I think so. Some of the movement & manoeuvring might need a little finessing but I think could work. Am I missing something? Keep in mind this wouldn't be some tournament game but a battle between consenting adults who never got riled by wargames & wargames' rules.
Comments & helpful suggestions welcome.
