SYW bits and bobs

Post by ochoin »

Filling in gaps in my 1/72 SYW armies where there are no suitable figures.

Both the Hungarian infantry & the Prussian Garde du Corps needed a lot of modifying: cutting detail (eg cuffs) off, some green stuff detail, decapitating and replacing heads, changing limbs' positions etc.

Still about 10 Hungarian line infantry to do.

They came out well, mate.
If "The System" is the answer, who asked such a bloody stupid question?

Thank you.

I would rather have liked to have Hungarians in the 1761 more ornate uniform but my modelling skills meant sticking to the earlier, less finicky uniform.

When I finish the final 10 or so Hungarian line infantrymen, I'm also looking at the 100 or so unpainted HaT & Revell Austrian infantry I have, lying around.

So; next project could be a couple of Bavarian regiments and a Bavarian battery (one gun model, if I can find one, & I have the requisite 3 crew figures).

I know the Bavarians weren't a major player in the wars but they might add a splash of colour to my Austrian army.

I did the Bavarians at the start of last year. Note however, that I got the gun-carriages wrong - they were red until 1762, when they changed to light blue. I mistakenly did them light blue.
