This is the thread to discuss or express interest in playing the Trojan Rampant games on the Saturday at Ayton 2023.
(At the moment it's just Marshalney and myself, but anymore players would be welcomed)
I hope to be able to have two games (one morning, one afternoon) although if there was an interest this could be altered to accommodate more players.
With the kind offer of some scenery from Supreme Littleness' recent crowdfunding campaign I hope to do more than use the walls of Troy as a "backdrop" so there may be some sieginess involved
The Rules will be Lion Rampant V.2 with modifications to make them more "Homeric".
Usual Lion Rampant size of Armies (ie 24pt) although there might be some leeway if playtesting suggests it's possible to use bigger armies in the time available.

Re: Ayton 2023 Trojan Rampant
I would be interested. The idea of building 28mm troy to go with my 6mm troy has some appeal as well.
Re: Ayton 2023 Trojan Rampant
At the moment i'm thinking of using one game as a more open thing and the second within the walls......it might be possible to run the two into one I dunno?? Think something like the assault of Minas Tirith in LoTR and you'll get an idea of where i'm coming from!FreddBloggs wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 8:06 pm I would be interested. Where do you think Tolkien got the idea!
Re: Ayton 2023 Trojan Rampant
I would dearly love to do this, particularly since I have several hundred Trojans and Achaeans painted and most of the major heroes. I've also cobbled together a set of rule amendments for LR with force lists.
Unfortunately, 19thC colonial beckons, but I'd happily share what I've done if you're interested Paul.

Why us? Cos we're 'ere lad, nobody else.

I'll probably "attack" this in earnest after Framlingham, if you're there maybe we can have a chat about things then?garyp wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 11:25 am I would dearly love to do this, particularly since I have several hundred Trojans and Achaeans painted and most of the major heroes. Re: Ayton 2023 Trojan Rampant
where are you both based, wonder if I can find a hall for a trojan rampant day in sheffield, if people are interested?
Re: Ayton 2023 Trojan Rampant
I'm up in the borders and Gary is down in the wilds of East Anglia IIRC. There may be some other interest too. Sheffield is probably just outside a day trip for me but may be doable! If someone in the middles was interested and could suggest a venue that would be good.FreddBloggs wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 12:23 pm where are you both based, wonder if I can find a hall for a trojan rampant day in sheffield, if people are interested?

Re: Ayton 2023 Trojan Rampant
middle is probably York then.
Re: Ayton 2023 Trojan Rampant
In which case I might be able to help there.
I'm interested but have no figures other than my vintage Assyrians/Hyborians which would be the closest match.
