It is indeed - from some angles it seems to have a terracotta quality to it, yet from others it looks like a dull red - either would be equally appropriate for madder-dyed coats of this period.

It's 2nd Shadow from the Andrea Red set as base. Then Scalecolor Red Label for the main colour but multiple layers to build up the effect. Officer and drummer had a bit of Vallejo Scarlet for highlights...

Cracking work. The combination of the hand painted flags and the very nicely done figures is simply outstanding.
