Believe me, I'm dying to paint some tricornes. The problem is my existing armies (French, Prussian, Austrian) are more or less complete. I won't start on British because one of my pals has assembled a sizeable force though admittedly he's painted a total of nil so far.
My various sales to Ebay have empted a fair amount of storage space which I'd love to fill with a SYW Russian army but it, sadly, doesn't exist in plastic or metal at my scale. And may well never be produced AFAIK.
No tricornes and no black eyeliner either... admittedly that's hard to paint in this scale.
He should be able to do the black or purple fingernails and assorted tatts, though.

You could paint HäT Austrian hatmen as Russians, and Airfix Brit hussars (cut off the plumes), but other horse and artillery is going to be difficult. Or wait until either Willz or I win the lottery and start churning out WSS/WAS/SYW in hard plastic.

Is 3D printing an option? Alternatively, I seem to recall people finding some of the Charles XII Swedes rather versatile.
Kein Plan überlebt den ersten Kontakt mit den Würfeln. (No plan survives the first contact with the dice.) Baron Mannshed von Wreckedoften, First Sea Lord of the Bavarian Admiralty.
It may be. I've never looked into it. Someone may be able to alter existing files to make the figures Donald needs. The guns would be simple as there's good drawings on the net. Cost may be a limiting factor, though- a 3D printed 15mm Sd.Kfz 251/17 I looked at was nearly 30 quid for one vehicle- P&P not included.
