I've been looking ahead to our Big Christmas Game and have stuck this scenario together for the Battle of Kolin, 1757. It's designed for 'Tricorn' rules (my SYW variant of 'Shako' rules), but could easily be adapted to any other set:

I visited Kolin nearly 20 years ago.
The church at Krechor defended by Austrian Grenz, still looks good today
Looking down from the Austrian position shows how open the ground is. The Prussians advanced up this slowly gentling slope towards the massed Austrian ranks.

Brilliant! I was once mates with Colonel Simon Millar, who wrote the Osprey book on Kolin and he also had a superb photo-album from the battlefield. Fascinating to see how little has changed there.

Mark, excellent pre-battle synopsis and impressive scenario. I look forward to the AAR.
Ilkley, thanks for sharing the photos, mate. That slope doesn't look that steep, but I wouldn't like to stroll up it on a warm day. How easy was it to get to?

A doddle. A short drive from Prague. If you stay in Prague you can also easily go to Lobositz as well.

Thanks, mate. Getting back to Prague is on my plans for my next trip. I only had a couple of days there, last time, and spent them exploring the city. A week there with some abject grovelling, a tantrum or two, and taking She Is Obeyed shopping might be doable for Kolin. Lobositz would be a bonus. Perhaps if I left her in Prague with all the plastic cards....
