That's not the same game that did the rounds to events all over the UK and Europe last year is it? That terrain was absolutely gorgeous!
No - quite different (well, as different as it can be, given it is the same action!). David is trying to make his more historically accurate in terms of starting points, the impact of off-table MG42s, the number/position of the gun pits (there were actually five), and factual interruptions: eg1 the guy detailed to bring up the explosives to "spike" the guns, left it behind when they "dropped packs", eg2 Winter ended up having to run all the way back to their RHQ to get more ammunition - two previous runners having failed to acquire any, and eg3 what impact did the guy who starts the game up a tree with an M1 carbine have.

What we're looking at now is whether all that "stodge" prevents a good game, or plays sufficiently well to unleash it on the World of Lard.

Probably, but being Yorkshire it will be top quality shit.

You are already sorely missed. And I'm already well ahead of you with the glass raising.

Excellent weekend! Thanks to Paul and Alex for the games! The lodge worked well for our reduced number. Paul's work on the Bash of Shields is paying off and we have a very playable game for the future. I was keen to play out Eylau and it was a great game, though a crushing defeat for us French.
