Any good suggestions? I have the GW fur brown and its working well on 15mm horses.
Any other useful speed paints for horse colours?

Agoras Dunes for a dun coloured horse.
I also use the Coat D'arms horse colour set, and then a contrast over (like inkwashing).

Any of the GW browns work well and of course "black Templar". You can vary the shades by using a combination of white, bone or grey zenithal highlight over a black undercoat, underneath the contrast, to start.
It id possible, to use the GW ones (possibly the others but I haven't tried) to use them like oil washes and go back whilst they're still wet and remove the paint over "highlight" areas with a makeup sponge. This can be tricky though as they can dry to a stage where they're still wet but have a film on top that breaks up when touched!

Perfect. I was in town today so popped into GW and got the Agoras Dunes. Forgot they were £4.75 a piece. I've got a black too so will give that a go.

There's two contrast blacks. Templar Black is the stronger one and my preference...if I had to give up all contrasts except one, Templar Black is the one i'd keep

Yep, bought templar black a while ago. Freds recommend was a good one. Great results for dun colour. I've started the Prussian heavies tonight. Last of the cavalry so ordered more French horse yesterday.

I just wondered how they'd get the lids off the speedpaints?
