I'm currently binge watching "The Last Kingdom" and waiting for "The Winter King" series to be released so naturally my mind has wandered to the proposed Shield Bashing saturday game for Novembers "other" Ayton.
So far I think the following people have expressed an interest (let me know if i'm wrong or if anyone else wants in on the action):
Me
Tim W.
Count B. (maybe)
Freddbloggs
I'm not worried about adhering to specific sub periods so anything 410-1066 will be shoehorned in somehow unless anyone feels strongly about it.

The phaser-armed landing party from the Antares Upper Three Quadrant, fresh from repairing the Pyramids at Giza, might throw a spanner in the works.....

It's time for folks to express an interest in this.
Army size will be c. 5 or 6 units of 12 figures each (6 figures for mounted units).
Any armies from 410AD to 1066AD will fit fine.
I have some spare armies knocking around if needed.
Rules are home grown and unit based so will suit most basing regimes. (Units are best on a 120mm frontage sabot or movement tray)
The intention is to give players a small learning game maybe one on one in the "AM" and then a bigger free for all in the afternoon.
Scenery and narrative will be "Atune" c 1000AD.
Minimum numbers would be 2 (me and one other) Maximum numbers would be 6 or 8 at a real push!
Any questions or clarifications please ask.

Yep. I have sabot bases in 6's if needed not sure how wide they are but will measure up.
Some leaders are on bigger round bases if that matters?
As you know I have a Saxon/Goth mix. Can lend a 1st Crusades army if needed.

Great painting guide but don't forget that you can also paint a second unit in orange
