Ayton May 2025 CB and EB’s BIG 18thC Bash
We’ve been trying to organise a game between Altefritzenburg and the Gateway for years, but something always buggers up the plan. So, we're putting a marker out now so there's something set in stone once the planning for 2025 gets started.
We intend to commandeer a large table in the village hall for the whole weekend and finally get our game done. Of course, if anyone wants to take command of some of the troops I’m sure there will be plenty to go round. Anyone offering to take command of the Gateway Cavalry will still have time for another game elsewhere after lunch on day 1.
It will be 'Altefritzenburg and Friends (Braunschweig and Ottoman types) v The Gateway and anyone they can scrape together, fought in some god forsaken wasteland known as Northern Altefritzenburg.
And there will be a river. And canoes….

Sounds perfect, pencils in date. I can bring Elephants to support the Ottomans (or stab them in the back) if it is 28mm.

The plan is just to use our own troops, of which we have quite a few. And probably a few more if I get painting again...

Ahhhh right, so you want to restrict elephant mounted cannons....

Hold yer horses (elephants) Fred, all we're doing is staking a claim for a table - getting in first, before all the confusion starts.

I would definitely be up for this (only disappointed it's not in 20mm and I could get to use EB's lovely Bavarians.....).
If necessary, I could supply two brigades each of AWI Regulars and Continentals, plus a cavalry unit and some artillery. If not necessary, then I won't.

As you know, I'm in and having been busy recruiting a small Braunschweig contingent.
Rules? You ask me what rules do I use. No, I don't do rules.
