Nice work, Willz. I like the Prince's standard, mate.
with a cross reference to a grenadier hat worn by a Royal Ecossais officer at the battle of Culloden
You mean like the one below, which is in Edinburgh? Sorry for the poor photo, but taking a photo through glass in a darkish room, without flash, is not a skill I've got the hang of. The very dark blue is probably a result of the dye pigments decaying over the last 279 years.

Yep that's the one where I got the idea from, there is a colour picture in one of Charles Grant books showing the cap.
Thanks for all your kind comments.
Just dusted off the Spencer Smith's I bought yesterday, the seller hand delivered them last night
.
Excellent ebay seller. I have enough to build at least 18 x 24 man battalions about 430 figures
, sadly some of the marching infantry
are suffering from (BPS) brittle plastic syndrome but I will treat them with PVA glue and varnish.
Willz.

There's a Charles Grant book I don't own?

Anything in a kilt always appeals to me. Such an "unknown" unit even more so. There's so many fragments & suggestions about the Jacobite army, it is an enigma.
And thanks for the photos of your lovely unit.

Thanks, Willz. I think I have that book, but it will be in storage with the others. If I do have it then remembering the photo in the book was beyond my braincell's abilities.
