...in 1/72-20mm for WW2 late war Europe.
Where can I get a sheet? My force is based on Rapid Fire scaling so about 30 vehicles need the rat & various numbered decals?

Re: 7th Division decals
Thanks, will. I saw them but I also want vehicle numbers etc You know, white 40 on black background for HQ vehicles etc.
I want all this on one sheet & not have to buy several & not use most of them.
I *did* find one for 32 mm vehicles but they didn't do a smaller sheet.
I can hand paint them on, if necessary.

15mm decals work ok on 20mm tanks, AFV's and vehicles.

Spanner of this parish was working on decal sheets, though I can't remember what scale he was doing them.
As has been said, 40 on a black square was a divisional headquarters. This is an excellent website for understanding what it all meant: https://tank-markings.blogspot.com/p/br ... rview.html

Ochie, I can give you artwork for the tac plates, SQN markings and the DIV badge in 1/72. You could print them yourself- but it can be a pain, especially if you don't have a CMYKW printer. Or you could see if a custom decal printer can do them for you- at a reasonable price. There was one in Brissie- Custom Hobby Decals (CHD) - but his website is down and Geoff may have closed shop. There's also Lasershark. About $40 for an A4 sheet, including P&P. The decals are very thin and require a bit of care to put them on, but a light coat of clear varnish sprayed on them will make handling easier. They do work pretty well, as you can see on the (1/144) test bed below.

PS I assume you want the 7th Armoured DIV?

If "The System" is the answer, who asked such a bloody stupid question?
Re: 7th Division decals
Hi, Dal.
One of my pals designs & prints his own decals - shield patterns. I've never inquired into how he does it - standard printer + special paper?
So, if you have a sheet with the symbols, I should be able to do something with it.
Yes, 7th Armoured - the "rats".

Decal paper to match your printer type (ink jet or laser)can be found in most hobby shops that sell plastic kits, mate. Putting inkjet paper into a laser printer can create all sorts of expensive repairs to cry over, as a mate found out. There can be some other issues, eg some inks "pool" on decal/glossy paper, being designed to be used for paper documents and not for photos. If your mate is printing his own shield decals then he can run through all the joys and fun of home printing.ochoin wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 9:20 am Hi, Dal.

I'm not familiar with Rapid Fire, so I'm assuming you're after something like this? I don't know when 22 ARMD BDE went to the "stag head" tac plates, but I think it was after Normandy. Mark can probably tell us the date, and the name of the bloke who signed to order.
