I have no hope of ever understanding what they're 'talking' about on the Wordpress forums (I say 'talking'; more like communicating via hieroglyphs), so I'll wait for the update...

Well WP customer support finally got back to me, so things are moving, albeit painfully slowly.

Another response from Wordpress: There will definitely be a fix in the next update (presumably v6.3.1).

Well, my blog just updated to 6.3.1 and it doesn't appear to have fixed it...
