Ayton 2019 discussion

With EB’s sad departure from running the VBCW campaign, I thought I should start a thread to discuss options:

1. Continue with VBCW and use one of the commercially available sets (MWWBK, Mud and Blood, etc)
2 Imaginations again using HoW or Black Powder.
3. Something new

I’d rather play the same period on both days, but am not prescriptive about it. With regards to 1 and 2, I really don’t think we need some big pre-campaign as we did this year. Both Purps and Gary have had very successful games with ‘this is where you need to be and this is why you’re doing it’. If we stick with this format, I’m happy to run/help run the behind the scenes as I can then also participate.

Thoughts/suggestions/ideas? Andy, can you please make this all sticky? Once alternatives are presented, we can run a Purple Poll

I'm in for vbcw if there are enough players for it still to be a big game

Me too.
Sorry to hear Iain won't be participating.

Likewise, the forces and scenery are already in some stage of progress, I've even bought flags and the Solway book on the People's Armies.

I’d also be tempted by a largish Imaginations Dark Age Lion Rampant style game, 36 to 48 points. But also equally happy for VBCW as I’ve bought the troops already

I've said this on the other thread but will repeat here for completeness :)

I think this is an opportunity run smaller games on the Saturday partially as a 'Taster' for possible future big games and then all come together for a big sunday VBCW game.
A lot of people have already started the VBCW so I wouldn't think it's fair to dump that, but a one day game would reduce the work for the organiser and the smaller saturday games wouldn't necessarily require anyone to paint up figures.

In the spirit of Paul's completeness. There will definitely be a return to Kumbahyah on the Saturday.

I'd like to try something else on the Sunday but I'm not precious, if other players want to carry on in Kumbahyah or try something new that's fine with me.

“Carry on Kumbayah”?

Event card: steal a Jeep to carry all the awards this cinematic masterpiece will surely win.

So long as we don't get Barbara Windsor flashing her threepenny bits it'd be ok.

‘National Geographic’-style scantily-clad tribal dancing.
Ethnographically interesting, culturally significant, and they don’t ‘arf jiggle.
