Dark Age Extras - buy, trade, advice...

To add to the pile of Saxon etc. stuff I have been painting and the bits of scenery I've been acquiring I am going to need some villager types (broadly late Saxon up to C11th-ish) and livestock type things...

So... couple of things...

1. Does anyone have any suitable bits in their bits box? Villagers, monks, cows etc.?

2. Who makes the best (quality and/or value) to suit the above?

I'm assuming Foundry do a fair bit but not cheap... and I'm sure Irregular do (variable quality)...

Any advice muchly received...

A

I’ll have a gander in my bits cellar, sure I saw some excessive monks there recently. Are Foundry that expensive these days? Got the feeling most traders had caught them up.

Had you seen this, rather intriguing I thought:

I'm sure GB do in period civilian types. They also do some good livestock (or at least did It's been probably twenty years since I got mine from them).

Sadly none in my bits box, but GB have an awesome range

I almost certainly do have some spare and certainly have some cows. However it's all lost somewhere in the garage and is unlikely to be broken out for some years!

That's a good link... ta.

The GP range is rather good. Though, in a true reflection of real life, children are rather expensive....

Agree with the Cat, if you ever want Foundry stuff at the £10 a pack I can pick up and carry to events.
I feel better about 28mm prices when I saw some 15mm figures are around 60p each now. WTF!

Warlord do a animal set, as do Pegasus. I’m getting some at some point and won’t need all.
Warbases must do a cow?
What about Colonel bills, they always have fun civilians and shit.

Hey Purps this has got me thinking
When I went to Foundry in May I bought some French Napoleonic generals but the pack is not listed on line
Do they carry ranges in the shop that are not listed on line?
