If I was to look at producing a range for this period in 6mm, where would be the best place(s) to start looking up the various needed uniforms etc.?

And a 6mm range would be a great idea. I’m only aware of the Baccus range at the moment and I didn’t like that at all

Adler also have a 6mm AWI range.

People not liking those ranges was why we were asked if we had any plans at Rapier.

I said I would look into it, but other than the barest knowledge it is not a period I know.

Mollo/McGregor for British uniforms.

Please, whatever you do, do not be tempted by the so-called "encyclopedia" put out by Digby Smith and Kevin Kiley. There are literally hundreds of mistakes in it (I know this because Kiley insisted I itemise them all before he would believe me - only time I've ever known him completely STFU).

There are some pitfalls to avoid that post-date the first two books, but if you want I can guide you through those. In 6mm, a lot of the "big" differences (eg British Regulars had buttonhole lace, Loyalists and Continentals didn't) will not be a factor, so I would suggest you produce sets of figures with specific clothing combos, as it was mostly about variations in headgear and legwear. With a few exceptions, each combo can work for either side; if you like, I'll help you catalogue which units wore what and when, to give you an on-line resource for painting etc.

I think the local term is confederates, but it went out of fashion some time between 1780 and 1860.
