Aldi scenery

This week Aldi have some simple birchwood buildings in as Christmas decorations. I got the pub as an experiment.
All the buildings come in the same size box so the church may be a smaller scale.
Anyway, here's the pub with a 28mm para for scale. It's a bit small which may bother some people, perfect for 20mm though. There are a couple of LED's inside for night actions. All this for £4.99.

I probably won't paint it until Boxing Day

If you put figures inside it, it looks like it would cast their shadows on the wall to pleasing effect.

Change the bulb to red or green?

If you want to cut down the 'see through' roof effect then a dark coloured interior paint or dark plastikard inner shell will reduced it significantly.

Looks like there’s a larger church here:

Intriguing idea, night time operations in a completely dark room, just house lighting on the scenery and perhaps a head-mounted torch for the players so they can see how many 1’s they rolled?

A mate of mine and I tried that with modified Charles Grand "Battle"rules on his bedroom floor. Lacerated feet, broken terrain and terrain and tanks were the result.

We used to do night games, but using a blue light bulb. Just enough light to see by, but dark enough to lose troops in the gloom.
