I thought my move went well, but now that I'm settled and, freed from the show/Ayton deadlines starting to look through my boxes to get half-finished projects ....... finished, I discovered the Ancient Germans:
Just going through it now to assess the damage

Ouch! There might be considerably less damage than you think, it often looks worse than it is [crosses everything].

Ouch!
I hope it turns out to look far worse than it is.

Ouch, I have had to sit down a have a large sherry to calm my nerves after seeing that. I hope it looks worse than it actually is. Of course, if they are a write off I shall be happy to dispose of them for you.

Thanks chaps. On closer examination there are 16 figures that lost shields or spears and there’s no other damage
Remarkably, the cavalry were entirely intact apart from one chap who lost a shield. I’d assumed that being heavier they’d be more vulnerable.
Looking forward to opening all the other boxes
But the removal guys did seem to be taking care so hopefully a one off and no damage done.
Naturally the Romans were fine, regular troops rather than the wild and woolly Germans.

Phew! That were close. Fingers crossed for the rest.
I was reminded of the awful consequences for some wargamers of the NZ earthquake.

Go to the top of your staircase.
Now look down.
Now look at your figures.
Yeah. Doesn’t seem so bad now, does it?

Yikes!
It could be worse, you could have spent ages rebasing them onto sabots with magnets to avoid this sort of thing...

Close shave! Best outcome you could have hoped for really.
