I think a wise master would overlook an incident with the chimps, the industrial grease and the celery stalks, but the organ harvesting from the younger boys was perhaps a prank too far.

You have to be a mighty necromancer to cast that!

“You have been summoned before the Amethyst Council to answer for your misuse of the spell ‘Control Bladder’.
We gave you this power for the control of YOUR OWN BLADDER, you miscreant.”

Honking wrong note that they’ve tied necromancy to chaos in 4e, with corruption points and mutations - doesn’t fit at all with any previous WH lore.
Realms of Death & Realms of Chaos were always entirely separate and usually opposed.
Previous editions had separate risk tests for meddling with necromancy, and specific necro-flavoured results if you failed: pallid skin, skull-like features, chance of contracting corpse rot.

Now it’s: Oh, you raised a skeleton? Pow! Badger legs! Tzeentch loves you.
No internal consistency at all.

Also - there are entire kingdoms based on necromantic power: the Vampire Counts, the Flesh-Eater Court of the Ghoul King, the Tomb Kings of Nekhara... it just wouldn’t work under the Necromancy=Chaos assumption.
They’d all have become gibbering tentacled chaos spawn right at the outset when they started meddling with death magic.

Maybe Necromancy is like being a NAZI, it just makes rational thought impossible.

I for one have never said Necromancy is wrong. Perhaps, like Ferdy, it is merely misunderstood?

And maybe everyone is misunderstanding mutations. Maybe they’re a GOOD thing?

See, necromancy.... y’know... I’m not saying it’s good, per se. Not making any value judgements here.
But it’s so ruddy useful.
I mean, couple of skellie bois tagging along, carrying your luggage, checking for traps.... doing it right, that is.
If you have to push the boundaries of magical ethics, there’s worse ways to do it.

But now it gets you all gribblied up?
Just no. Who’d dabble now?

“I HAVE GLIMPSED BEYOND THE VEIL OF MORTAL DEATH!”

“Wait, are you... are you a chest of drawers?”

“WELL NOW I AM, YEAH. BUT BEFORE THAT.”

Good job then that our necromancer limits his magic to listening to other people's conversations and gently fingering bystanders

Don’t forget being covered in every conceivable bodily fluid possible. It’s not mandatory to be his own. I mean it must be a requirement to cast spells. No normal person would do it as much.
