Festive Figure Fun Fhread

This time of year always puts me in the gaming mood for some reason.
Here’s our usual annual Christmas time Loose wargaming Christmas thread.
What’s everyone’s idea of perfect Christmas time game?
Any games planned?
And the most importantly...
What are you hoping to splurge forth from Santa’s Sack even if it’s by your own hand?

This hasn't happened, yet, but my perfect Christmas game would be......
42mm shinies, played in a cosy olde worlde hotel, driving rain (outside, obviously), a gale force wind (also outside), endless supplies of savories and cakes and bottomless glasses of good beer, G&T and port. And the LAW travelling circus of course.
I'm waiting on a large Newline order to arrive, a gift to myself because I've been a very good boy. I'm going to buy myself some Eagle Miniatures command figures for the Gateway, because the Gateway have also been good this year and haven't run away once.

Hmmm nice port, rich stilton fine christmas cake, reminds me, mine needs its marzipan doint this week, snow blizzard outside, heating and my freshly painted macedonians crushing all before them.

EB paints a very inviting picture - hard to argue with that. I’ll take a scenic whiteout rather than miserable rain, though. (Roads’ll be clear by the time we have to go, never fear.)
Cthulhu in the library after dinner, anybody?

Sounds good, cthulhu, in the library, with his tentacles. Perfect game of cluedo.

EB's schedule with Norm's weather mod sounds like heaven. I'll need a clear spell to walk the dog.
Games wise it's the club party on Thursday so it'll be a light session of Wings of War interrupted by food and the raffle. My present is already sorted but any cash that is forthcoming will join the overtime as my budget for more 42mm shiny toys.

Have you noticed how Cleudo has fallen out of fashion since every copy show on TV has a pathologist who is either old and grumpy or young, female and fit. Cluedo relies on someone who can't spot gunshot wounds, stab wounds, blunt force trauma, strangulation or poisoning.

Well the latest version has Colonel Mustard, dressed as Miss Scarlet in the Library while Proffessor Plum, is used from behind by a leather clad Mrs Peacock.

At Winchester clubs December meeting we used to have a pod racing game, based on the starhound rules, that most of the club took part in. Even after I went north twenty years ago I still used to return for that game until the club folded. After winning it for each of the last three years it took place though, at least I can claim to still be the undisputed champion

Nice to see a more realistic take on country house pursuits.
