Just in case anyone has ordered a terrain mat from Tiny Wargames, their site has just started showing this message
“ Due to a problem with Paypal we are temporarily suspending our service.
If you have placed an order and not received goods, please put in a dispute with Paypal and you will be refunded, we have been forced to do this because of the failings of the Paypal system.
PLEASE NOTE WE HAVE OVER 1000 happy customers, we are not looking to rip people off, PAYPAL have assured us that the system will be fixed and all deliveries not sent will be refunded!
Many apologies.
We shall return in the future.

ooh that looks....ominous!
"We shall return..." suggests something a bit more than a PayPal issue.

Ok, they were turning over 95k annually, but were still using essentially a 29k overdraft, that means they were living on the limit of that, and they cannot refund until what paypal are owed is cleared first, hence needing the customer to ask for it.
And after 3 years paypal said, no more.

All sounds a bit harsh for them.

Not really, you are raking in 95k a year, but not paying off your borrowing.... Lenders get a bit touchy at that point.

I supported this company this year, partly because I know the guy is a veteran and this company has been his answer to his PTSD, and because I was very impressed with Gary's battle mat from them. I wanted the battle mat before Christmas as it was a present for my grand son. It did finally arrive, and in fairness to them it was actually a bigger mat than the one I had ordered, but there were some fraught weeks and exchanges of e mails etc before it arrived safely. So I wouldn't condemn them out of hand, but it sounds like some more astute financial management is required.

I'm guessing that if the facts are exactly as described that they could carry on trading but with longer lead in times so that there was no need to hold any stock. They have some nice designs so I hope they manage to sort the issues out however there a few variants on the story knocking around which normally makes me doubtful of the trader.

That’s a shame, I liked their product and was planning a new mat in 2020.
