WSS in 1/72

Horse & Musket (the King of wargaming periods) for me is the SYW & Napoleonic (& ACW if you'll stretch the definition).

Really, there is no need to add other armies & wars to this list. After all, an addition would take away from the finite time I have to game the above.

But, when you see figures of this quality, your resolve falters:

Strelets have already shown some of their French WSS sets & are pretty rock-solid in creating and releasing complete ranges, so artillery, cavalry, staff & other specialist sets should emerge.

Very, very tempting.

I have a box of the English foot. They are seriously good and the French look like being even better.

They match reasonably well with my 20mm stuff so I think a brigade will have to be done.

There will be spares, Donald, so I'm probably going to be able to help you with command figures, the standard bearers certainly.

There was a time when one's heart would leap like a salmon heading for the spawning grounds on hearing that someone was doing plastic WSS; then sink, as though plucked from said stream, just short of the finish line, by a hungry bear, on finding out that they were made by Strelets. Not any more - these are superb (not least because it means we can meet up with EB for a game!). The only problem is the glacial pace at which the other packs in the range will be released....

They are indeed very nice and none of the ridiculous poses that seem too often to plague 1/72 plastics

It's almost like they've been listening to us wargamers, isn't it?

Decent looking figures and at first glance they've done their homework on the uniforms.
