Anybody up for it?
Transport options under consideration, aiming to go at least one day before to make a weekend of it.

Peeler planned to take three weeks to get there and back so he could fit a drink or two in

All very well, but what's the pie situation like?

And will want to do full weekend, Friday to Monday. Might even remember to join Antwerp’s bike scheme this time round.

Here are the transport options:

1: Fly direct to Antwerp.
Direct flights from London City (Cityjet) and London Southend (FlyBe) only.

2: Fly to Brussels.
Direct flights from: Belfast, Birmingham, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Heathrow, Manchester, Newcastle.
Train Brussels/Antwerp: 45mins

Ferry:
Zeebrugge or Rotterdam: sail from Hull, 1hr 20mn drive.
(Technically Dunkirk is closer, but you have to sail from Dover and the Dunkirk-Antwerp drive actually takes longer.)

Train: leave from St Pancras, change at Brussels, three hours total, 8 trains a day.

Thoughts?

I thought that you would arrive in a palanquin carried by three shifts each of three Coronavirus immune minotaurs.

My thoughts would be:
A. Fly from Edinburgh as it’s fastest and cheapest for me. That train time from Brussels looks a little suspect - it was about 20minutes from Brussels Central and I don’t think the airport is much further away.

B. Train to St Pancras, Eurostar to Brussels, local train to Antwerpen Centrale. Slower and more expensive, but no weight limits coming back :D and it saves the planet for future generations.

Will have a look at costs but I fancy the Eurostar, it’s fun.

I’ve done two hotels in previous years, one next to the station in the centre of town and one next to the venue. Both were fine for after-hours recreation and the venue is only 20 minutes walk from the centre of town anyway. But we have to do the Cock-Nose Jesus bar, even if only for a swift half!

I’m sorely tempted if it’s next year. I’ve already got commitments this year
