I've ordered it for the sake of nine quid off hamazon. I'm intrigued, it sounds good and I've been looking for a Necromundaish skirmish but for moderns, not Sci-Fi. How are you getting on with it? I have some boxes of 1/72 Italeri modern Russian special forces that would be useful for it. Otherwise I might look see what Ruskies Underfire Miniatures do, in fact I have some in my Kumbahyah collection. What are you using?

WTF? You’re into ZA and you never mentioned?
Black cat based ‘Hazmat’ and ‘Cultist’ figures, and Eureka’s 1980’s Soviets in NBC gear are decent multi-purpose ZA fodder.

I have a handful of cultist types with modernish weapons you can have.

Ohh, could be useful! I'm leaning towards 20mm though as I can use a load of WWII terrain I haven't used in years. But we'll see. If the chaps have 28 then I can see a future game in its embryonic form.

Late to this, my apologies. First of all, take very little of the core rules as gospel. Feel free to tweak it yourself.

I get the impression that a lot was constrained by the Osprey format.
One of the biggest oddities is that you can select your initial weapons for free. Maybe that's a hangover from computer games. It does mean that you can give everyone an LMG.

There are solo mods on the FB page. BTW the author's FB page is called Stalker 7. There is another one called Zona Alfa which is nothing to do with him. Played solo it's a bit of a monster hunt. I may try running two groups against each other. Check the Announcements for a FAQ thread.

I'm playing with 28mm figures, the current team are Copplestone Future Wars with a Wargames Factory zombie survivor.
Gas mask figures look great but unless you create toxic scenarios they don't change much.

One player has reset it to southern Arizona so Kumbayah wouldn't be any trouble.

I can see your thinking regarding 20mm, but we have a hell of a lot of useful stuff already in 28mm, for example I have loads of the Copplestone "Future Wars" figures, and we have suitable vehicles as well, that would be ideal. And you know my thoughts on commercial rules, frankly we could use the setting/backstory and use Laserblade quite happily, or even your own rules we used for Kumbayah. I don't see any real need to get tied to a set of rules as such, to quote Howard, we're past that.

I'd have to say that the playtesting didn't have enough "How can I break this?" work done on it. You can use experience advances to upgrade any stat and the author never considered that people might opt to upgrade the armour that way as well as by purchasing better armour. It wouldn't take long before you got a character to a point where he would only fail on a natural 10, that's a fail whatever the stat is.
Someone else worked out that you could achieve the ultimate aim (get rich enough to retire)quickly by hiring rookies armed with sniper rifles and pistols and then selling their kit for more than it cost to recruit them. All these things can be tweaked, the fun aspect is coming up with a scenario that rewards you but could get you killed.

Yes, I wasn't tied to the rules more using the character development and scenarios. As you say we have nothing but options!
