Re: Oniria Miniatures scale comparison (Napoleonics)

If their French Foreign Legion of Camerone are anything to go by, then they are heroic 28mm.

Can Peeler confirm that our weekend doesn't clash with the harvest festival? In most places it's just a matter of collecting tins of fruit for the elderly but in those parts they like to make an offering to the old gods.
We're ok on that score Buff, Peeler is one of the old gods.

Re: The Other ShedCon, 16/17 November 2019

It was a valiant and gallant charge, a real all or nothing gamble and it paid off, thus proving that when the chips are down he can lead cavalry with the best of them. I am not in the least bit miffed that he cut down my brave infantry. A great weekend's wargaming, with Gary's wonderful collection, ...

Re: A second Ayton in 2020

What? No Fram? Hmmm. I will have to visit Detectorists territory another time. Count me as a possible for Ayton 2, although it's only a week after The Other Partizan (which moves to Oct in in 2020). Sorry Phil, no, although we were sort of expecting you this year. The venue is increasing it's costs...

Ayton in Autumn, who could resist? Crisp morning air, golden brown leaves gently falling on the shallow graves of the last set of strangers who visited.
Booking the accommodation tonight.

Re: A second Ayton in 2020

Just this second got the school holiday dates. I can make the first weekend, 16-19 October, but not the second. Iain OK then, I'm going to make a command decision, and that is that we go with the first weekend, 16-19 October, it's nearly a year away so there might possibly some wiggle room to get a...

Re: A sad loss to the hobby

That is sad news indeed, I was lucky enough to meet Stuart a couple of times and he was always a gentleman, passionate about his hobby and one of those who encouraged it in others. He will be sorely missed. I hope he is up there somewhere, sitting down to a game with HG Wells, DF, Terry Wise, Charle...
