Same here. I have seen it done and I'm not convinced.Spanner wrote: ↑Wed Mar 26, 2025 9:19 pmWould painting the edges give them more of a 3D look, Tim? Though the main attraction, which appeals strongly to my laziness, is not having to go near them with a paint brush.Tim Hall wrote: ↑Wed Mar 26, 2025 4:38 pm Still very undecided on that one. I prefer the 3D, and as much as I enjoy using the WoFun chaps, I am still a 3D wargamer and painter. But the pleasure in just pulling them off their frames and onto the bases and being ready to rock is fun too. The look of them on a proper table as they were yesterday, and with proper terrain works very well.

Rules? You ask me what rules do I use. No, I don't do rules.

Understood. I haven't seen them here, just in photos. They look like they have nicely detailed fronts and backs, but the translucent sides jar. It may be different if I see the actual figures.

From the photos it looks a bit like the equivalent of not touching up the mis-matched edges of paper flags.
That said, it really does look an absolutely spiffing game!

That's a good point. WoFun 'flats' are far from photogenic because the shiny edge shows up like a sore thumb in a photograph. When you're playing with them, through necessity, the eye is drawn to the coloured parts.

That's it, EB. It looks like a good game was had, but it was a bit "off"- something unexpected, such as a show photo with a few unpainted figures/vehicles scattered among the units. As you said, you'd likely soon get used to it.

Total respect for them, but definitely not for me. I like 3D and I like metal.

Whilst I understand why people go for these I like painting and gaming with my German Zinnfiguren.

And I can see why!
Splendid fellows. Is that a 'proper' 3D gun?

I do use full round artillery for my armies. I do have a zinnfiguren one but it just does not look right.
