I've got a modestly-sized Austrian v Prussian scenario (the Combat of Pretzsch, 29th October 1759) on my blog. As well as the full scenario there's a small 'vignette' scenario, concentrating on the main action between Wunsch's Prussians and Arenberg's Austrians.
Wow - you've packed a shed-load of research into that. Well done and thank you for sharing - it's relatively rare to come across smaller actions from the SYW that someone has delved this deeply into.
Kein Plan überlebt den ersten Kontakt mit den Würfeln. (No plan survives the first contact with the dice.) Baron Mannshed von Wreckedoften, First Sea Lord of the Bavarian Admiralty.
Excellent work, mate, and an interesting situation. I agree, there was a lot going on in Saxony and Silesia that gets overlooked because Big Fred wasn't there.
If "The System" is the answer, who asked such a bloody stupid question?
I hope to add some more Saxony battles to the blog soon(ish): Korbitz, Strehla and Torgau. The first two involve lots of Reichsarmee units, which are always good fun. The third features Big Fred and is a pretty massive scenario, largely fought on the earlier battlefield of Zinna.
I've just noticed that I failed to name one of the villages at the top-left of the map. That should be labelled 'Kechs'.
Torgau is a very interesting battle, mate, one of my favourites. Ziethen's divergence from the plan helped save Fred's rep (how many times now have his generals done that?). Also a few more grains of powder in one particular Austrian musket cartridge and it was "Bye, bye, Freddie". I hadn't heard of Strehla- it may be a hard one to balance for a game.
