From their Facebook feed. Just one hall this year
“ Important Notice
For Hammerhead 2023 we will not be using The Cedric Ford Pavilion (Gamers Lounge). With a number of our regular traders retiring from the show circuit, we felt that due to the current economic situation that we are all experiencing this was not the year to introduce new traders from the waiting list. As a result, with 15% less traders we are able to accommodate the show including 55 public participation games, Wargames Illustrated painting competition, DBA Northern Cup etc. within the massive 3000 square metre George Stevenson Exhibition Hall.
This was a tough decision, but we feel that this was the best policy in respect to the economic realities, to protect trader takings and therefore profitability on the day. Traders and manufactures all have significantly increased materials, energy and transport costs, so please come to Hammerhead and spend money with the wide selection of traders. After all, it is the wargame traders that make all the UK wargame shows financially viable!”

Re: Hammerhead show
I already knew this was planned. It is sad as the gamers lounge was a very civilised hall, with carpet and tablecloths.

Re: Hammerhead show
I was going to try and go this year. Not sure I can be bothered now
Re: Hammerhead show
I had a big Vappa, and it’s a long drive, I spend longer in the car than at the show. Went last year and it was great, but will give it a miss this year

Re: Hammerhead show
Did that last weekend in Green Hammerton and am again next weekend in Bristol
Re: Hammerhead show
It's dooable and I've done a couple of Partizans and a previous Hammerhead which are always very good but would probably prefer to spend the fuel costs on figures at the minute. Shame but I don't see me getting to many other shows this year other than Leeds in November. Hope to have lots more gaming weekend days this year.

Clearly "show organiser speak", but unclear whether it's for "helping Plod with their enquiries" or "visited by Norm".....goat major wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 2:55 pm With a number of our regular traders retiring from the show circuit.....

Phil and I have decided not to make the trip over. WMMS the following week, just over a mile from my front door, and all the folk I want to visit with my war chest in attendance. Plus there are numerous chums I might meet and the mix of games, modellers and reenactors makes for an interesting few hours.
There is no point in being stupid if you don't show it!
