I've just finished painting some AB Early Russian grenadiers (circa 1807) as Prussian Gardes zu Fuss (circa 1813). The bricole-counters will no doubt be able to spot the inaccuracies, but I think they look darned spiffing! In any case, you simply can't beat a nicely-trimmed busch!

Now doing some Marshal Murats and 'friends' for 1807, 1812 and 1813, though I'm not sure if I've got enough pink...

If you really want to give the bricole counters an aneurism, make the Neapolitan standards Pink, white and Brown tricolores with crossed spoons in the middle of the white.

I've already done the Neapolitans, sorry... I did enjoy painting the flags though... More armies should have bare boobies on their colours...

Oh god I hate painting leopard/tiger-skin shabraques...

I wish someone would make something like thinly populated toothbrushes with tiny sponge heads on the bristles. Be nifty for 6 mm camo, leopard skin.

I once painted up a Revell Albatros DIII in leopqrd skin, found its mortal remains a couple of years back and gave it a dignified funeral.
