Many thanks for the kind comments and good wishes chaps. I'm just finishing the Hanoverian Leib Regiment cavalry so they should be up soonish.

Using up spare Foundry figures to make a command base for the infantry element of the Hanoverian contingent in my SYW Allied army as I must now call it. A blog about the compromises necessary to use the figures coming along later today.

Nice composition on that base, for sure.

The Leib Regiment, the first cavalry unit for the Hanoverian contingent in my SYW expansion project. Over on the blog are more pictures and a bit of a chat about compromises when it comes to figures and painting.

Excellent stuff! Yes, I often find myself having to make compromises in order to paint a certain unit or troop-type, but at 15mm it's easier to get away with! At the moment I'm just painting some Reichsarmee artillery; this particular contingent had lapels on the coat and pompoms on the hat, but I'm using Austrian figures which have neither, so I'll just paint on the lapels and ignore the pompoms.

Nicely done, compromises are what keep us sane and productive. In the same vein I do not have the patience to convert figures to make them more historically accurate but admire those who have both the patience and skill

Hanoverian shabraques are ridiculously over-patterned, mate, so why would you even try to paint it? Very nice unit.

The Leib-Garde are the next unit of Hanoverians to muster into GHQ. More on the blog as you'd expect. Many thanks to the chaps who posted in support of my meagre efforts.

The Grenadiers zu Pferde are a good looking regiment, mate, and you've captured the feel of big buggers with an attitude. If you're looking for flags, and David at NBA hasn't done them, then look at Kronoskaf, Penda. You can download them for personal use (ie make flags for figures) and the new artist has recently submitted a whole range of re-done Hannover flags. Things only get nasty when people use the artwork to make flag sets to sell (that's why two of our contributors, both decent artists, quit).
